2013 is almost coming to an end. Oh… how fast this year went by!
I feel like it was just yesterday that I got my new planner and diary out, and began this year with lot of hopes and resolutions! As usual, many of those resolutions didn’t make it, but I have improved in a lot of areas. As Sheena wrote on her blog, it is growth that matters, not goals!
This year, I witnessed some major turning points in my life. I am in awe of how God is leading me. At the same time, 2013 was also one of the toughest seasons in my life, with struggles and problems coming one after the other. But God in His faithfulness is helping me tide it over, making me stronger in Him.
So looking back at 2013, here are a few important blessings I received from God this year!
1. Launching the Clothed in Scarlet Website
Even though starting an online business resource has been my dream for several years, I was not planning to get started on it this year! It was something I thought I would eventually get to do later. I was focusing only on my SEO projects, trying to get them more established.
This website was just a dream at the back of my mind. You might have read the story of how I chose the name Clothed In Scarlet… God helped me pick this name and I registered the domain right-away! But you see, I really didn’t plan to start this website at that time.
God however, had other plans.
To be frank, the reason I hesitated to start this website is that I was so scared about my writing! Yes, writing is not my strength. I am one of the very few bloggers (and now an author, too) out there, whose will make this claim!
God in His usual awesome way, gave me someone who can help in that area! Sheena. She is my editor and my all in all support for running this website. I called her initially for another project but later that day, God told me to call her up again and ask her to work for Clothed In Scarlet.
Oh… yes! That was the beginning. The site was launched on May 8th. It has been 7 months now and by God’s grace, it is growing with 1000 plus subscribers!
2. Self Publishing an eBook!
As I told you, writing is not my strength. So definitely writing an eBook was way out of my league. But last month, I self published an eBook “31 Days to Start an Online Business“. That is something I never thought about even in my wildest dreams last year! The eBook is actually the enhanced version of the 31 days blog series I did in July… (of course with the help of Sheena!)
And within the first two days of launch the eBook, it was downloaded 1200+ times! (For the launch week, it was free.) I am totally humbled by that response. I am so thankful to God for giving me the wisdom and courage to get it going!
3. Deep Christian Friendships
For the last few years, I had been crying out to the Lord, asking him for real Christian friendships. When I saw other women having fellowship, I would long for the same. This year, God placed me in the Good Morning Girls leadership team where I got some good friends from around the world. Through GMG, I also met Sheena, who works for me… and is now one of my closest friends.
So this year, I’ve been blessed with some real Christian fellowship and it is definitely one of the biggest blessings from my Father in Heaven.
I will admit, this year has not been all rosy. I’ve had my share of trials – struggles I hadn’t experienced in the past. But God has been faithful to lead me through them. He has always reached out to me through His Word and calmed my anxious heart. I can now honestly say that I’m thankful for the trials, because God has made me stronger through them.
So, how has 2013 been for you? What events stand out for you in the past year?
