Books have always been my go-to resource every time I needed to know about a particular subject. And online business is no exception. Although I’ve been in the online marketing scene for more than 5 years now, I still distill new information from all the good business books out there.
When you’re getting intentional about your online business, you will start identifying gaps in your knowledge and skills. I highly recommend that you pick up some books that deal with those topics where you’re lagging, and use the information you garner from them to boost your expertise.
To start with, here are 6 books to take your online business to the next level.
1. Marketing: A Love Story

Marketing: A Love Story by Bernadette Jiwa is a short read that’s packed with marketing goodness. The author writes about how businesses can matter to their customers by speaking their language. She advocates that rather than using marketing to promote or coerce, we could use it to reach out to people and help them solve their problems.
2. Start With Why

Start With Why by Simon Sinek is one book that greatly resonated with me. The premise behind the book is that when it comes to business, “what” you do doesn’t matter as much as “why” you do it. Once we identify our “why”, we will be more equipped to figure out how it can be implemented successfully through our business.
3. Made To Stick

Made To Stick by Chip Heath and Dan Heath has been on my wishlist for a while now. The authors have done meticulous research and compiled case studies to find the secret to making an idea last. According to the book, the elements of a sticky idea are its simplicity, unexpectedness, concreteness, credibility, emotions and stories.
4. Launch

I just started reading Launch by Jeff Walker, and it has already proved to be a treasure trove of knowledge. The author provides foolproof formulas and strategies to launch any kind of information product. The processes outlined in the book come from the author’s own successful experience in internet marketing, so we know these launch processes do work.
5. Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World

Platform by Michael Hyatt is yet another goldmine that cannot be ignored on this list. This book is for anyone who is serious about building their platform and getting connected with their audience. The author offers proven strategies, easy-to-replicate formulas and practical tips to win customers in a crowded marketplace.
6. Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by
Gary Vaynerchuk can best be described as a blueprint to social media marketing strategies that really works. The author writes that the secret to succeeding in social media is not just pounding the audience with sales pitches, but creating content specific to each platform, and then meaningfully engaging with followers.
Think of books as a business investment that will pay for themselves once you start implementing what you learn from them. Which book will you be picking up first?

The book I need to read first on this list is “Marketing A Love Story” this is the area where I believe there is much room for improvement. Although all of the books on the list sound like they would be beneficial. Thanks again for more good information!
