4 Weeks To Sell Online Blog Challenge – Week 3 Update

We’re continuing with Week 3 of the Blog Challenge based on my eCourse, 4 Weeks to Sell Your First Product Online. On Tuesday, I challenged you to identify where you’ll be selling your product, and get your graphics, sales page and payment process ready.

In this video, I share how I worked through the week 3 challenge.

Video Notes:

This week, we had to continue working on the product creation as well as complete a few other things. We had to:

  • Identify where we will be selling your product
  • Create the graphics required to sell the product.
  • Set up a sales page for the new product.
  • Set up the payment process from the sales page.
  • Set up the product delivery method.
  • Arrange for the withdrawal of funds.

I first decided where I was going to sell my product. I decided on Amazon. I will be having a sales page on my website, letting my visitors know more details about the product, testimonials, where they can get it, etc. And I will be directing them to the Amazon listing page. In effect, there will be 2 sales pages. When you are selling at an online marketplace, that is a possibility.

I then created the graphic for the product. My product is an eBook, so I went ahead and created the eBook cover. This is a tentative image; I may change it as I get new ideas. I then started working on the sales page. There are a few more things I need to get it completely done – like testimonials, reviews, etc. but apart from that, the sales page has been set up.

If you have access to the eCourse, you will find a special video on the important elements of a sales page. With that knowledge you will be able to create a killer sales page for your new product. Elements I included in my sales page are problems I’m solving through this eBook, the people I’m targeting, and some additional graphics.

We then move to the payment process, delivery and withdrawal of funds. As I am going with Amazon, Amazon will be handling the payment process. I just need to list the book, add the image and the book details and they will take care of everything else. I will be paid the royalty I agreed upon while listing the eBook.

The product delivery will also be handled by Amazon. If you are selling your digital product through an online marketplace, they will handle the product delivery. If it is physical product, you might need to handle the product delivery, shipment, etc. So, please work on that.

Moving on to the withdrawal of funds… When I created an account on Amazon while listing my previous eBook, I linked my local bank account to Amazon and also verified my tax details. So, whenever the funds get accumulated in my Amazon account, after a time period set by Amazon, it will be credited to my bank account. A threshold will have to be met for the transfer to occur.

This is how I set up my payment process, delivery and withdrawal of funds. The process may vary for you, according to where you are going to sell your product. So, work on all that I’ve mentioned above and complete this week’s challenge.

Sunu….for this challenge I decided that it was important to have a second sale channel for my business. Currently, I’m using Etsy but would love to migrate to my own shop/store and analyzing various options right now! I’m still working through the lesson but enjoying stepping through your process and really taking time to think and plan properly.

Chamel, since you already have a website, it will be good if you can add your store to the existing site. If you need any help, do email me..:)

I have an Etsy shop but haven´t had any sales yet. I started planning a new product and followed modules 1 and 2 to do so.
With module 3 the payment and funds withdrawal are included in the Etsy shop already. Now, onto the module 4!
    Thank you Sunu!
